For 2017, we created many new and interesting options to improve your health and well being. Simply complete two challenges in the first period and one in the second period to earn your incentive. Most current challenge highlighted in orange.

Health Insurance Incentive Details
In order to meet the first premium incentive period:
• Complete biometric clinic by January 13, 2017
• Complete 2 challenges (70%+) prior to July 1, 2017
• Employees who do not complete 2 challenges will have their premium adjusted beginning July 1
In order to meet the first premium incentive period:
For employees who met the first incentive:
• Complete 1 additional challenge before the end of the year
• Employees who do not complete the 1 additional challenge will have their premium adjusted beginning January 1, 2018
For employees who did not meet the first incentive:
• Employees who complete a total of three challenges in the first and second period will earn back the incentive beginning January 1, 2018.
Wellness Day Off/Titanium Fitness 1 Month Membership Details
Option 1 – 1 Wellness Day Off
• Must complete 2 waves in the first 6 months of the year at 90% or above & 1 wave in the last six 6 months of the year at 90%.
Option 2 – Titanium Fitness 30-day Membership
• Up to a total of 5 months of Titanium Fitness Membership
• Employee or Employee & Spouse (if spouse is covered under Jaynes medical plan) must complete each wave at 90% or above.
o For each wave completed at 90% or above you are eligible to pick up a Titanium Gift Certificate from Jill Neu.
o The employee or spouse will be able to gift their 30-day membership to the other.
• For each 30-day membership, the employee or spouse will need to attend Titanium Fitness a minimum of 8 visits for the month.
o This corresponds to the Jaynes Gym requirements
• In the case membership has already been established – you will be able to extend out your membership with each Titanium Fitness gift certificate earned.
THE SWEET LIFE + CARDIO
Sugars are everywhere. Lurching in the corners, trying to thwart your healthy habits and all the hard work you've put toward your healthy lifestyle. Join Nuvita's Sweet Life Challenge and get on with Livin' the Sweet Life. In this 6 week challenge, you will focus on getting quality cardio exercise and be educated on the health impacts of excessive sugar consumption both inside and out, hidden sources of sugar and practical ways to have a better relationship with sugar.
CLEAN EATING + CARDIO
Clean eating does not mean eating Oreos while mopping your floors. Clean eating means getting back to the simple way of eating with a focus on high quality foods. It isn't about perfection, it's about eating more foods that move you toward good health. In this 6 week challenge, you will focus on getting quality cardio exercise and learn a simple way to approach a clean eating plan. We will provide you with lots of meal planning tips, resources, and recipes.
Weight Loss + Cardio:
This 6 week challenge is not for the sake of weight loss alone. The most successful weight losers approach weight loss from a holistic approach. In this 6 week challenge, you will focus on getting quality cardio exercise and be educated on best strategies to manage weight and create a healthier relationship with food, 5 reasons why calorie counting doesn't work, and that sleep and muscle are the keys to efficient weight management. This thinking is what motivates us: If I just make good grades, lose that weight, get that promotion, or retire, THEN I will be happy. Success first, happiness second. This formula not only doesn't work it is absolutely flawed. It’s backwards! The emerging science of positive psychology and advances in neuroscience prove with simple yet very effective techniques you can increase happiness now and be more successful in all areas of your life.

Step 1: Download the App
If you haven’t already downloaded the myNuvita App, do so now. Open the App Store on your phone and search for the myNuvita app. This app is separate from the NuvitaCardio2 App. You may also go to www.mynuvita.com to view your dashboard.
Step 2: Get to know your App
Welcome to your MyNuvita profile! In addition to the cardio elements of your program, your MyNuvita dashboard is a central hub of information for you throughout your Nuvita program. You have the ability to interact with your Nuvita coach and friends, view your program progress, see where you stack up in your competition and more. Many of the same modules are available both in the app and on the website. Let’s explore the dashboard modules:
a. Program Progress: this module shows your current weekly progress as well as your progress week-to-week throughout the program. As you complete more elements of your program, the higher your weekly percentage will be. Set a personal benchmark to reach at least 70% of your weekly-overall goal, and you’ll be sure to receive the benefits that Nuvita can help you achieve.
b. Cardio: this module shows your percentage of overall weekly cardio compared to your goal, your time Below Zone, In Zone, Above Zone, In and Above Zone and Total Calories Burned. Click “Cardio” to see even more insight into your weekly cardio workouts.
c. My Friends: Click the small gray button in the corner of this module and you’ll be able to add friends within your organization. You can compare your weekly progress and compete for overall cardio minutes!
d. Coaching: this module allows you to interact with your Nuvita Health Coach. Your health coach can answer any and all of your questions pertainting to the Nuvita program, fitness and nutrition. You can schedule a call with your Coach or ask them a question online. If you haven’t already scheduled a coaching appointment, do so now!
e. Just for U: the Just for U education program delivers weekly quizzes that count toward your overall program progress. The personalized content of these quizzes is aimed to help you through your Nuvita program by providing useful, interesting articles and testing general comprehension. Be sure to complete the quizzes each week for a quick, simple way to advance your program progress!
f. Coaching Wall: your Coaching Wall is reserved for private conversations between you and your coach! Your coach will provide weekly tips, tricks and motivation while helping to keep you motivated and accountable on your Nuvita journey!
g. Cardio Stars: the Cardio Stars module is a quick look at those in your organization with top cardio minutes for the week. The higher your minutes, the higher you’ll be on the cardio stars list!
h. Wellness Wall: with the Wellness Wall module, you can post anything and everything about your Nuvita journey. It is only visible to those within your organization. Many use the wellness wall to post pictures of their workouts, healthy snack and meal ideas and questions for coaches and fellow participants.
Heart Rate Settings Policy
Regular physical activity is known to produce health benefits and decrease the risk of disease. Heart rate is the best metric to ensure the physical activity is of adequate intensity and duration to produce the desired benefits. Intensity and duration have an inverse relationship. As intensity goes up, duration will need to go down and vice versa. In addition, the same inverse relationship can be used to get the desired benefits while being adjusted to meet the personal abilities and time constraints of participants.
In order to maintain a standard that produces personal health benefits and supports the initiatives that Jaynes has for improving the health risks for employees, the following options for heart rate settings are available to participants:
- 65-75% of your max heart rate with a weekly goal of 90 minutes in and above your zone
- 70-80% of your max heart rate with a weekly goal of 75 minutes in and above your zone
- 75-85% of your max heart rate with a weekly goal of 45 minutes in and above your zone
Participants can choose the setting that best fits their personal abilities and commitment to being active. They may change their settings to any one of the three options at any time by contacting their coach.
Manual Credit for Time In Zone
Manual credit for exercise time in heart rate zones is reserved for technical failures and non-routine extenuating circumstances only. The following are examples of when manual credit would be warranted:
- Technical issues with the cardio monitor or the Nuvita platform that prevented downloading of cardio minutes.
- Dead batteries may be included as a technical issue, but not multiple incidents of dead batteries
Examples where manual credit is not warranted include:
- User error—user does not understand how to properly use the equipment
- Participants forgot their cardio monitors
- Participants lost their cardio monitor
- Participants accidentally turned off their monitors
- Participant is on vacation, sick or traveling for business reasons and don’t have their monitors with them
- Participants wish to use a device that is non-compatible with Nuvita platform
- Current compatible devices include Nuvita Bluetooth monitor, Garmin VivoSmart HR, and Apple Watch
In the event of a technical failure it is the participant’s responsibility to contact Nuvita technical support as soon as possible when the failure occurs. Technical support must validate a technical failure has occurred before manual credit will be given.
A report of those receiving manual credit is provided to Jaynes Management on a weekly basis.
Participants may experience hardships (injury, illness, etc.) after starting their Nuvita programs that impair their abilities to complete their programs as originally designed, for some period during their programs or for the duration of their programs.
Nuvita professionals will modify participants’ programs in order to allow participants’ to continue to use the heart rate monitor during the hardship period. Heart rate zones will be set at a level that is achievable during the hardship, even if that level requires the zones be set to resting levels. Hardship status does not remove the requirement to use the heart rate monitor and record the achievable physical activity.
Validation from a physician in writing is required to be placed on hardship.
It is the responsibility of the participant to notify their coach AS SOON AS POSSIBLE at the onset of the hardship. Failure to notify the coach in a timely manner may result in not receiving credit retroactively.
A report of those on hardship is provided to Jaynes Management on a weekly basis, although to protect privacy the nature of the hardship is never disclosed and remains confidential between the particpant and the Nuvita coach.
